The Thong Transformation

January 26th, 2009

There are many reasons women (and men) love thongs. The look, the feel, the comfort of the thong all combine for a very pleasing effect. But what about the psychological effects?

The shape of the woman’s body has long been idolized, even worshiped at times. The thong matches the natural lines of the body closely, accentuating the form and leaving little to the imagination.

But having a scant amount of fabric can serve to tantalize your partner. Thongs come in many shapes and sizes, and one of the main reasons that women like to buy thongs is that it makes them feel sexier and more confident about their bodies.

Although thongs have risen in popularity the last few years, there is still something taboo about wearing them, whether in public or private. Many women like to wear thongs to show that they have sexual needs and desires, and refuse to conform to a society that wants to flaunt sex and make it taboo at the same time.

Thongs also help to bring out a more playful side in the bedroom. They might barely cover anything, but they still hide the important parts, and let you tease your partner rather effectively. Just relax and have a bit of fun (details at http://www.SpicyRelationships.com/lingerie/).

No matter what type of thong you choose, they go well with many forms of lingerie, and cover just enough to have fun with. Many sets of lingerie already come with a type of thong. You can also match material and designs up rather easily, as there are almost countless styles of thongs to choose from. When you slip into a pair of thongs, let them help you express your sexual side, and lead the way to fulfilling desires that some might call naughty, wanton, or forbidden. What should you be calling it? Natural.

Girls’ Night In

January 26th, 2009

I had the privilege of being invited to the home of my 86 year old neighbor. Her objective was to teach me how to make her delicious Scottish shortbread cookies. What fun we had measuring, stirring, chatting and baking. She is an incredible woman and I discovered that night that it doesn’t take a lot of effort to plan an enjoyable girls’ night in.

In this fast paced world, we often forget just how amazing simplicity can be. Some of the best moments in life are remembered fondly because they were spent building relationships, enjoying each other’s company, and discovering the histories that shaped us and the dreams that propel us forward.

So, the next time you’re searching for the perfect activity to share with your friends, why not keep it simple and invite them over for an evening of baking, cooking, scrapbooking or any other activity or hobby you all enjoy. Learn from each other and enhance the depth of your friendships.

I wish you could all meet my 86 year old neighbor, but since you can’t, I’ll share with you what she shared with me… her recipe for Scottish shortbread cookies.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound butter (room temperature)

1/2 cup fruit sugar

1/2 cup rice flour

2 cups sifted all purpose flour

Instructions:

Cream butter and sugar together.

Add rice flour and stir to a creamy consistency.

Gradually work in the flour (using a sifter).

Knead the mixture till smooth.

Note: You may not need all of the flour. When there is about 1/4 of a cup of flour left, start kneading the mixture so that you will be able to feel when the dough changes from too wet to just right.

Heat the oven to 300 degrees.

Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and pat each piece into its own 8 inch foil pie plate.

Run a knife around the edge of the dough about an eighth of an inch from the sides.

Precut the dough into the number of slices/pieces you would like to have upon completion (You will use these same lines to cut the cookies out after baking.

Prick each piece several times with a fork.

Bake for 20 minutes and then turn the oven down to 275 degrees.

Bake for 25-40 minutes to complete (depending on your baking pans and oven).

Remove from oven, cut, cool and enjoy with a hot beverage and good friends.

Note: You can make these cookies in other pans and cut them into different shapes and sizes. What you MUST get right is the texture of the dough and the pierce marks before baking. Also, be careful not to overbake.

Keep it Simple! Make it Fun!

Bracelets Through The Ages

January 26th, 2009

The earliest bracelets date back to around 2500 BC and were those worn by the Sumerians in southern Mesopotamia. Bracelets, necklaces, anklets, finger rings and ear rings made the women of Sumer into show windows of their husband’s prosperity. Bracelets were found in the tombs of Ur where it was customary to bury royalty with their jewellery and unfortunately their poor servants.

By about 2000 BC, in Ancient Egypt, bracelets emerged as major pieces of jewellery. Bracelets were found in the ruins from the Vesuvias eruption in Pompeii in 79 AD.
It was during the age of the Egyptian Pharaohs that charm bracelets were first seen although charms themselves dated back as far as the Neolithic era when men would gather unusual bits of wood or pieces of stone which would be carried about their person in order to ward off their enemies. So these charms were considered ‘lucky charms’ and powerful protectors against evil.
It wasn’t until the time of the Pharaohs though that these charms were incorporated into elaborate pieces of jewellery such as wrist and neck bracelets which were not only deemed to offer protection but were also a sign of how prosperous the person had been in life and after death would be an indicator to the Gods of this persons proper status in the after life.

In Grecian times bracelets were popular with men and soldiers wore defensive bands of leather, often decorated with gold, silver and or gemstones, on their forearms. They were known as ‘Bracels,’ from the Latin Brachium, meaning, ‘arm.’ When women caught on that these Bracels would look great on them, they started wearing smaller versions, called little Bracels…or ‘Bracel-ets.’

The history of bracelets stretches forward through the Middle Ages of medieval Europe through the Baroque period of the 18th century, and on right through to the present.

Throughout time, bracelets have been made from many different materials such as leather, iron, copper, beads, bone and teeth as well as precious metals and gemstone.
Throughout the ages bracelets have always been popular and the styles seem to have varied according to dress styles. In cultures where people wore sleeveless or short sleeved attire such as the Romans and ancient Greeks, the wearing of bracelets both on the upper and lower arm became popular with both men and women. The wearing of upper arm bracelets is still popular today with modern fashionable skimpy clothing lending itself well to the wearing of more jewellery.

Today, bracelets are worn by both men and women in a variety of materials such as traditional precious metals like gold silver and platinum. Modern plastics and acrylics are now much used to make trendy, unusual bracelets as well as metals like titanium and zirconium which have become popular because they are hard wearing, very light and hypoallergenic. Whatever your tastes and whatever your budget, there is an enormous choice of bracelets and bangles to suit everyone.

Plus Size Wedding Gown Guide - Shop by Shape

January 25th, 2009

Plus size wedding gown, shopping doesn’t have to be traumatic. Shopping for your plus size wedding gown can be so much easier if you know in advance which styles will flatter you. Dress Slimmer on your Wedding Day with Body Fit and Style. The following is an excerpt from Plus Size Bridal Guide. Hourglass Figure - Also called X shape, Curvy Shape: You have the easiest shape to dress. You can call attention to your waist. Soft fabrics are very flattering to you. If you are tall, your defined waist creates balance. If you are short, you may want to de-emphasize your waist a little so you don’t look chopped in half. You would accomplish this by wearing a plus size wedding gown with vertical lines that curve in at the waist instead of a dress that has an actual, horizontal waistline. You are curvaceous. Celebrate it!!!!! The hourglass figure can easily wear ball gown, sheath or a-line style wedding gowns.

Rectangular Figure - Also called H Shape, I Shape, and Straight Shape: Because your silhouette is straight up and down, you would want to create waist definition with vertical lines that curve in. Princess seams work well for you. Fitted bodices with a slightly dropped waist, Basque waist or v-waist work well for you, as well. Anything that gives the illusion of a waist without a horizontal line at your waist will work well for you. Empire waistline is your friend. You can wear sheaths, empire style, raised waist, a-line, Basque waistline, dropped waist. Avoid gathered or heavily pleated fabric at the waist. If you are in the upper plus sizes, you might look in evening wear and look for a white beaded gown in the tunic and skirt style.

Apple Figure - Also called O Shape, Circle Shape or Round Shape: This is the most difficult shape to dress. Your figure is visually larger or wider above the waist and narrower around your hips and thighs. Think vertical lines. Avoid anything that creates an actual horizontal line at the waist. Some a-line in the skirt is ok if it falls in a nice, soft drape. No crinolines. Avoid gathered or heavily pleated fabric at the waist. Empire style and soft drape a-line styles are your best choices. If you could find a two piece gown with a straight skirt and a tunic style top, this would work very well for you. You might look in evening wear and look for a white beaded, lace or crepe gown in this style, especially if you wear the upper plus sizes and just not feeling comfortable in any other style.

Pear Figure - Also called A Shape, Triangle Shape: Wonderful pear shaped women have a waist - sometimes a tiny waist. You can wear bodices that are fitted and defined. You can even have a gown with a horizontal line at the waist. You can wear a-line or anything that flares out. A fitted bodice that comes to a V in the front elongates your slim upper body and makes the skirt just flow over your hips and makes them disappear. Sometimes, however, a pear shaped woman can have very small or sloping shoulders. You may need to add some small shoulder pads (fabric store) to hold the shoulders up. Avoid straight skirted gowns. They will pull across the hip area. And you may read somewhere that empire style works for pear shape, but I disagree. Empire style hides your greatest asset - your little waist. A-line, defined waist ballgown, or Basque styles will look great on you.

Plus size bridal shopping can be a wonderful and exciting experience. By knowing your body type, you can easily shop at online bridal shops. By choosing the right design for your body type, your perfect plus size wedding gown will arrive at your door ready to make you the beautiful bride you always dreamed of being.

Link Exchange Did Not Bring Any Traffic to My Website

January 23rd, 2009

I am always surprised, when I read articles and ads that instruct webmasters to exchange links with similar websites. I have tried it when I started to build websites. It simply didn’t work for me.

Traffic is the dream of every webmasters. Without traffic, you get no sales, no subscribers, no publicity, and none of your reasons of being online is reached.

Link exchange takes lots of effort to achieve simply because, you have to find similar websites to yours, find the contacts, send an email to the webmasters, and then wait for an answer.

After doing all the work, you may not get an answer or worse yet, you might get response from website owners who are trying to sell you their products.

Some webmasters try to automate the process of exchanging links, and join fee based services that coast $19.95 and up to help them get links faster.

Some of the problem I encountered when exchanging links with other webmasters are:

1- Webmasters who are willing to exchange links are desperate of traffic, or usually are not high traffic website owners. Think of it, if you get lots of traffic to your website
and added a link on your website pointing to a different website, you will be diverting traffic away from your website.

2-Who wants to send you traffic if you aren’t able to send them back similar number of visitors.

3-You probably ask how someone knows how much traffic I get to my website without reading my website logs. There is some websites that give you an idea of low or high traffic websites. A good estimation of website traffic is the traffic ranking done by Alex.com.

4-Another reason is that, some webmasters don’t link back to your website, even if you added a link to their website.

5-Some webmasters charge you a fee to add a link to your website. After you pay, you don’t know how long they will keep it. That by itself, will need lots of effort to keep
track.

6-Another problem with link exchange is that few links don’t help. You will need lots of links pointing to your website to make a difference. Again, because you are dealing with website that don’t have lots of traffic.

In conclusion, I don’t recommend the webmaster of any new website to try link exchange to create traffic to their website. If you want to use this technique, use it last. Again
I am not an expert on website traffic, I am a website designer sharing my experience with traffic building techniques.

8 Steps for a Woman Dancing with Cancer

January 23rd, 2009

1. Submit. Give up. Make room for the miracle.

2. Inform yourself. Listen to your intuition. Examine all the options, but only use what feels right to you.

3. Accept support. Surround yourself with loving friends, healing music, special colors, prayer and affirmation. Create a ceremony of healing/wholing and invite your supporters.

4. Anoint your breast(s) with healing herbal oils such as calendula, dandelion, or poke. Visualize healing energies suffusing your tissues.

5. Maximize the healthy qualities of your diet:

  • Use organic olive oil and butter to the exclusion of other fats.

  • Increase your use of beans, especially lentils, and fermented foods such as yogurt, sauerkraut, miso, tamari, homemade wines and beers.

  • Include immune building and anticancer herbs in your diet:
  • • Daily use of a nourishing infusion, especially red clover flower or burdock root or violet leaf infusions.
    • Daily use of fresh herb vinegars, especially yellow dock, burdock, and dandelion root vinegars.
    • Frequent use of a long-cooked soup containing seaweed (such as kombu or wakame), astragalus root, and medicinal mushrooms (reishi, shiitake, puffballs, etc).

6. Increase you exercise level. Take a yoga or tai chi class weekly. Walk daily. Get a weekly massage. Pamper yourself with activity.

7. Use drugs (chemotherapy, tamoxifen, anesthesia, pain killers) as required but:

  • consider a short trial of a powerful herb such as poke root before resorting to drugs; and

  • always combine drug use with complementary herbs. For instance, protect the liver with milk thistle seed tincture.

8. Use radiation and surgery as needed but:

  • always combine with complementary herbs; and

  • be willing to set limits that you feel comfortable with - they can’t take your lymph glands if you say “No.”

Understanding Shutter Delay in Digital Cameras

January 22nd, 2009

When using a digital camera to take action photos you will notice that there is a delay between the time you press the shutter button to the time the camera actually takes the photo. In most cases this delay is small enough and not noticeable but when taking action photos, when trying to capture an event that just happened or when trying to capture a moving object this delay can result in a photo that just missed the action. In this article you will better understand what causes the shutter delay and how you can overcome it.

A shutter delay is defined as the time gap between pressing the shutter button to the camera actually capturing the photo. There is no shutter delay in film cameras as in these cameras the shutter button is virtually connected to the shutter itself and holding down the button results in the camera taking a photo immediately. In digital cameras the shutter button is connected to a built-in micro computer and holding down the shutter button initiates a series of events that result in capturing a photo.

When you press the shutter button the camera goes through a series of setup events in order to get all its electronics ready. Only when these events are finished can the camera capture the photo. The time it takes for the camera to complete these events can vary but is usually around one second or so. When taking subsequent photos there is an addition delay as a result of the camera compressing the photo and writing it to the slow flash memory.

Although a circa one second delay does not seem long it can make the difference between capturing an action photo to missing it. Some cameras will also initiate a focus process when the shutter button is held down and will only take the photo when the focus is completed. This can add even more delay.

Although it is impossible to remove the shutter delay in your camera there are few practices that can help avoiding its results. For example many cameras include a burst mode. In burst mode the camera shoots a fast series of photos for as long as the shutter button is held down or until the camera’s memory is full. In this mode the camera writes the photos to a temporary memory which is very fast but small. When the shutter button is released or the memory is full the camera starts the slow process of writing the photos to the flash memory.

Using the burst mode you can shoot fast photos of an action event and then choose the one that best captured the events. The speed and the amount of photos that the burst mode supports vary between cameras. Some high end cameras can take as much as ten photos over the course of one second.

Another delay that is a result of the digital camera technology is the Initial Delay. Most cameras will enter into a standby mode if not used for a certain amount of time. This time can vary but it’s usually in the few minutes range. When the camera goes into standby mode it turns off most of its electronics in order to save power. Usually pressing the shutter button will restart the camera but such a restart process is long and can take a few seconds. The result is a longer delay when taking a photo after the camera was idle for some time. In order to avoid this you would have to make sure that your camera is turned on and does not go into standby mode when taking action photos. Some cameras allow you to disable the automatic standby feature through a menu option. If your camera does not allow that you can keep it on by pressing the shutter button half way down every now and then. The downside of leaving the camera on all the time is wasting battery power. In order to maximize battery life in such scenarios you can disable the camera’s LCD screen which consumes a lot of energy and use the view finder instead.

Another way to minimize the shutter delay is to avoid the automatic focus process which usually starts when the shutter button is held down. One way to do that is to hold the shutter button half way down. In most cameras the result will be a one time focus process and then a focus lock. The camera will stay in focus and when the shutter is fully pressed it will take a photo without re-focusing. Another option is to put the camera in manual focus.

It takes practice to get to know your camera and to get a feeling of the delays it introduces. Although there is no way to completely get rid of the delays you can master overcoming them by practicing taking action photos. New high end professional cameras have a very short delay and as the electronics improve cameras will eliminate the shutter delay altogether.

Maximum Exposure: Ten Ways To Effectively Increase Your Site’s Prominence On The Web

January 22nd, 2009

It’s a strange world, this place we call the internet. Many things here are stark opposites of their real life counterparts. Take for example the following. Whereas blind dating is a most dubious manner of meeting people in real life, it is the norm in cyberspace. Whereas multi-level marketing carries with it a stigma of disaster in the actual world, it is a venture very much sought on the web. And whereas traffic tends to irritate us in our daily existence, online denizens would kill to increase the same for their websites.

Traffic, or the volume of users who visit your site, is what ultimately dictates the success or failure of your enterprise. You may have the best looking site on the planet, offering the most beneficial package for would-be customers, but if no one gets to visit it, all would have been for naught.

Thus, generating traffic for your online business should be of utmost importance. Here are some proven ways in increasing the quantity of users who would visit your site.

1. Use Overture. Overture is a Yahoo subsidiary that offers a very useful keyword suggestion tool that could help you come up with the right keywords. Using the right keywords would rake in more visitors for your site. Simply punch in the words that are related to your products or services, and see how many searches were made for those particular entries. The more searches there are, the more you should consider using those keywords in your site.

2. Submit your site to the many search engines on the web. People who are looking for particular information use search engines to determine their destination. You would want to have your website shown once a search is made.

3. Know the value of keywords. Search engine spiders are sent to fetch the keywords embedded in your site, so it would serve you well if your pages are populated with the right keywords you’ve acquired from Overture.

4. Provide quality content. Populating your site with keywords would be useless if done carelessly. Your visitors would be looking for information, and it would be best to give them that. Otherwise, they’ll just leave as quickly as they came. Remember, you want quality visitors, those who have the highest possibility of purchasing what you have to offer. You have to provide good, informative content for them so that they’ll stay. Try to publish articles or special reports on your site, where your keywords are strategically positioned in the body of your content at a density level of at least 2% (2 mentions of the keywords per 100 words of the body).

5. Consider setting up multiple sites. It has recently been discovered that the number of sites linked to yours influence your search engine ranking. By setting up multiple sites under different domains, and linking them together to form a congruent whole, you will be able to climb up the search engine ladder.

6. Link exchanges. You may also exchange links and/or banners with webmasters who operate a site that is related to yours. This would increase the possibility of cross-jumping visitors who would get exposed to your site and the products or services you offer.

7. Promote in online communities. Join forums, mailing lists, discussion boards and similar gatherings of people online. Most of them would start threads asking for help. Aid them with your field of expertise. Establish connections, and then invite them over to your site. Often, some of these mediums allow you to have a signature where you could put a link to your page, and this would most certainly bring in some visitors as well.

8. Create your own means of inviting past guests to visit your site again. You could build your own mailing list to keep in touch with them and offer some promos from time to time. Or you could incorporate a forum in your website to provide for a venue for your visitors to come together and discuss certain topics. This would simulate the semblance of a community they could call their own, and they would keep visiting your site to join in the discussions.

9. Constantly change your content. Not only will this method win the favor of search engines, this would also increase the possibility of attracting visitors you once lost.

10. Use Adword. Adword is a pay-per-click service that requires you to pay Googles in exchange for a prominent display of your website’s link whenever a search is made that is related to your keywords.

At the early stages of your site’s existence, traffic may come slow. But do not be discouraged into resignation. With the techniques shared in this article, you would increase the flow of visitors in due time, resulting in a high level of activity for your online venture. And with a prosperous site naturally comes a prosperous business.

Graduation Stoles

Graduation stoles, also known as graduation sashes are pieces of fabric worn by a graduating student over hers or his graduation gown during the graduation. Typically, graduation stoles capture different meanings, for instance they may mean membership with Greek organizations, such as sororities or fraternities. They could also mean membership with non Greek associations, cultural and ethnic heritage, or academic achievement (for example honor stoles). Some academic institutions have gratitude stoles. Most graduation stoles are manufactured out of silk fabric, and can contain personalized patches, iron-ons, and embroidery. During commencement, these stoles are meant to appear wrinkle free, so do not fold them during storage.

Training before Touring Betters Enjoyment and Helps Prevent Accidents

January 21st, 2009

Every year it’s the repeat account. Notwithstanding cycling to the office, and an occasional hike, each ski season starts on those torturing first couple of hikes when Im left behind in the paths of junior and healthier snowboarding buddies.

Being not match fit whilst touring it’s unenjoyable, and may be very risky. To ski down one needs to have some extra reserves. A tired boarder is likely to suffer accidents and fatigue can be a contributing element to incidents, for example falls and crevasse falls.

Surely there is a nicer manner to commence the season, and a lately published 306 page guide by Arthur Snell, who previously wrote Chamonix Travel, looks to extend a resolution. Though directed at climbers the data is for the most part practical to skiing, with its energetic climbs as well as different games.

Running, training for best performance is highly researched and easily read. It’s a acceptable all-round manual that gathers together some good info. You may develop a particular training program or tweak your current programme. Granted that it is calculated for mountaineers, and so some of the info maybe extraneous for touring, it’s unquestionably a book to acquire if you want to do a few of the big day or multi-day classic routes.
